Apple plans to launch the upgrade of AI Siri’s assistant in spring 2026! New Medium

Apple has reportedly scheduled the long-delayed Siri artificial intelligence upgrade for release in spring 2026 and is expected to be integrated in the iOS 26.4 update. Apples are usually released in March with a sub-version of iOS, so iOS 26.4 is expected to be launched in March 2026. According to Bloomberg sources, Apple does not intend to postpone Siri ‘ s AI until after spring 2026 to ensure consistency with the Apple Intelligence strategy.

The Siri upgrade was first published in 2024 at the Global Developer ‘ s Conference (WWDC) as part of the Apple Inteligence, but was postponed several times due to the lack of technological maturity. In July 2024, Mark Gurman reported that Siri ‘ s screen sensor and personal context functions would be postponed to iOS 18.4 in spring 2025, but the latest information indicates that they have been further delayed to 2026.

The upgraded Siri will be able to use user data (e.g., calendar, mail, messages) to provide a more accurate individualized response, for example, to recommend action programmes based on user schedules. Analyses what is on the screen and answers questions related to current user operations, such as explaining web content or handling complex commands. Support was also provided for more complex multi-step operations, such as the completion of a combination of “booking restaurants and sending invitations” by voice.

iOS 26.4 Possible introduction of “Liquid Glass” design language, optimization of the Siri user interface and enhancement of visual and interactive experience. Some of the Siri functionality began to integrate the ChatGPT of OpenAI at the end of 2024 and is expected to further optimize external AI model collaboration in 2026.

Apple plans to introduce a significantly upgraded Siri through iOS 26.4 in the spring of 2026, introducing context perception and multistep task processing functions to enhance user experience and respond to AI competition. Despite controversial delays, Apple ‘ s long-term AI strategy and collaboration with OpenAI demonstrated its commitment. The success of the Siri upgrade will depend on technological stability and user acceptance, and the release in spring 2026 will be a key node of the AppleAi strategy.
