The social game giant VGW launched the Monopoly Match, marking its first entry into the trifle game. This free-of-charge game combines the Monopoly classic board game mechanism with the Triple Game, allowing players to earn dice by solving puzzles, move on board and collect property.

Monopoly Match contains a number of elements familiar to the Monopoly Go player, including landmark elements such as the Opportunity Card, the community treasure box and the “Boardwalk” that have been redefined in a puzzle-based structure. Monopoly Match is currently in the early stages of a phased roll-out, open to North American players. The game consists of hundreds of levels, unlockable chess boards and progress systems associated with real estate collection and incentivization.

VGW’s introduction of Monopoly Match shows the continuing interest of the market in a hybrid play model that combines mature IP with certified mobile mechanisms. “Monopoly Match” also followed the great success of “Monopoly Go” under Spopely. The latter has generated more than $6 billion in income by transforming the Monopoly brand into a social, real-time-driven experience.

In a post, VGW says: “This is an important milestone in expanding our product mix to bring about an exciting new world of entertainment. The Monopoly Match combines the eternal charms of the iconic Monopoly board game with the popular triad, creating an interactive player experience.”
